Hand Drumming for Kids Ages 5-12 with Sundance DiDomenico at Tree of Life Studio • Thursdays, 4 p.m.; April 10-June 19 • Share in the excitement of rhythms from around the globe. Learn basic hand drumming techniques as we explore the world of polyrhythm. Develop skills in teamwork, playing music, building community, and expressing oneself. Jazz/Hip Hop for Kids Ages 7-12 with Jenabah Giacomelli at Tree of Life Studio • Wednesdays, 5 p.m.; April 9-June 18 • Bringing together the culture of street dancing and the technical training of jazz dance, choreography is set to fast paced music with movements involving all muscles in the body. We will build strength, discipline, and style, and focus on increasing flexibility, muscle tone, and proper technique. Hip Hop utilizes the beats and rhythms of the music. Students will work with isolating different body parts and learning a variety of movements like popping, waving, and locking. No previous dance training is required but a good attitude is a must. Tumble-n-Twist for Ages 2-4 with Cheri Sing • Wednesdays, April 9-June 18, 10:30-11:15 a.m. • Twist with your tot! This class gently stimulates body awareness, self-esteem, and socialization skills while your child is introduced to new movements and music in a fun, creative atmosphere. Students will be encouraged to work with tumbling, jumping, balance, and following directions. Getting Powerful with Your Power Animal: Shamanism for Youth Ages 9-14 with Kate Durda in Lansing Area • June 8, 1-5 p.m. • Young people are capable of having profound beliefs and meaningful spiritual experiences from a very early age.
