Mother's Day Tea with the Fairies, May 11th, 2008
Children and their families
are welcome
for tea and petits fours served by real-life fairies!
Celebrate with our magical fairies
as they serve up tea, treats, and magic.
There will also be story time with Lily
at each tea from books available at Crazy Wisdom.
There will be two (2) parties on the same day.
First party at 1 p.m. and second party at 4 p.m.
$8.50 per person (infants 18 mo. and younger are free).
Guaranteed seating requires a credit card number given
at time of reservation.
Credit cards will be charged the day of teas.
Cancellations must be made 48 hours before the event to
avoid charges.

Poetry Nights:
Wednesday, May 7th, 7:30-9:30 pm, EMUs Creative Writing Graduate Student Organization will host contributors of Eastern Michigan University , The 50/50 publication. Poets present an aesthetic of the un-pampered inspired by the disturbing, frustrating, but ultimately beautiful aspects of life. Wednesday, May 21st, from 7:30-9:30 pm, EMUs Creative Writing Graduate Student Organization invites all-comers to attend and participate in a poetry/flash fiction open-mic night. Biographies of presenters:
Bill Barr is an MA student at EMU dual enrolled
in their Creative Writing and Children's Literature programs.
He is an award winning humor columnist for the Eastern
Echo and a stand up-comic. His fiction and non-fiction
can be found in numerous journals, newspapers, and magazines
nationwide.
Sarah Smarch nannies and edits journals for a living.
She is the current Editor-in-Chief of Bathhouse Magazine.
She draws inspiration from childhood experiences, reading
through the current literary trends, and sifting through
piles at garage sales. She travels as much as possible
and is drawn to water, near which she will someday live
as an editor, freelance writer, and esteemed barefoot
baker.
Jamie Jones is halfway through the MA program in
Creative writing at EMU. She is the poetry editor for
Dogzplot Literary Journal and an assistant editor for
Cellar Roots. Jamie is the author of two chapbooks of
poetry, Imaginary and The Other Room. Her most recent
work can be found in Prick of the Spindle, Cellar Roots,
Slughorne, and 51/49.
Gregory Heaney is an MA student at EMU. He is an
Arsenal supporter who likes his home messy, his hands
clean, and has been known to smoke an drink in excess.
His writing has appeared in Dogzplot, 50/50, Cellar Roots,
51/49, and a massive database filled with information
that you may or may not ever need.
