Celebrating the Mother-Daughter Journey with Kellie Carbone • May 10, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. at Crazy Wisdom Community Room • Experience Mother’s Day as you never have before! 10th Anniversary Celebration Concert with Interfaith Center for Spiritual Growth • June 7, 7:30 p.m. • The many talented members of our Center come together in creativity, community, and celebration on this special evening. The tentative roster includes singer/guitarist Craig Brann, singer Rev. Dave Bell, the Interfaith Drummers, dancer Irena Nagler from Nightfire, songwriter/keyboardist Laura Massaro, and the duo Synchronicity, as well as singer/songwriter Scott McWhinney, who will also emcee. Ann Arbor Summer Festival • June 13-July 6 • The long-awaited summer festival returns with Mainstage performances primarily at the Power Center, featuring especially “A Prairie Home Companion: with Garrison Keillor, a live broadcast at Hill Auditorium on June 14, 5:45 p.m. Tickets range from $25-$65. For tickets, call 764-2538 or 800-221-1229. Also featured is Top of the Park, the annual outdoor music and movie series focusing on local and regional artists. Taking place on the grass at Ingalls Mall, in front of Rackham School of Graduate Studies on Washington Street near Burton Memorial Tower. Entertaining and family-friendly performances vary widely, with a movie once it’s dark. You’ve got to go at least once per summer for this unusual, wonderful, and well-attended Ann Arbor event! Element Pledge Ceremony with Gateways Center for Life Enrichment • June 1, 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m. • The basis for the Element Pledge Ceremony lies in our deep desire to unite our heavenly and earthly natures and be empowered to express something of divine truth in daily life. This ceremony provides an opportunity to put forward an intention, in the presence of witnesses, to study and experience one of the four elements for a set period of time. Spirit of Healing Community Meditation at the Sanctuary of the Genesis Center • May 3, 6:30-9:30 p.m. • Everyone is a healer, and everyone needs healing. Green Street Fair in Plymouth: Come Visit Herbalist Jim McDonald • May 3, 10 a.m.-7 p.m. and May 4, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. • Jim McDonald will have a booth in the Health and Wellness Area of this holistic festival in downtown Plymouth and will be talking herbs throughout the weekend. Song Sermon with the Laz Trio and Cinco de Mayo Potluck at Interfaith Center for Spiritual Growth • May 4: Service at 10:45 a.m., Potluck at 12:15 p.m. • The Laz Trio will present a song sermon in place of a traditional lecture. With Laz Slomovits on vocals, guitar, fiddle, and folk flutes; Helen Slomovits on Celtic harp, silver flute, and vocals; and Lori Fithian on percussion and vocals, the Trio performs uplifting original songs and world music-flavored improvisations.
