Moving Being: The Ancient Yogas of Tibet at Tsogyelgar Dharma Center • May 31, 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. • We will explore the relationship between mind, body, and wisdom through the moving yogas of the Buddhist and Bonpo traditions of Tibet. Wisdom of Insight with Ann Barden of Deep Spring Center • May 17, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. • In Buddhist tradition, the wisdom of insight refers to the deep understanding and experience of the nature of reality ­— the qualities of impermanence, unsatisfactoriness, and selflessness. In this workshop for experienced meditators, we will intellectually explore the meaning of these three characteristics. We will use contemplation to penetrate our understanding, followed by periods of silence in which to experience these qualities directly. $20 building fee with donations accepted for teacher. The Ann Arbor temple is a small urban temple in a Victorian house, surrounded by a large garden with a meditation area and large trees. We offer daily meditation practice, weekly courses in meditation and yoga, and monthly retreats. Public Services are on Sunday at 9:30 am and 4 pm. We offer Children's Service at 9:30am on the second Sunday of each month.
Teacher
Rev. Haju Linda Murray was ordained a priest in 1991 by Ven. Samu Sunim, and was recipient of his Dharma transmission in July, 1999. A single mother raising two daughters and a student of Ven. Samu Sunim's since 1978, she is the overall residential caretaker for the temple and its programs. She also conducts services, teaches courses, & leads retreats.
