Services: Neuromuscular Therapy is a thorough program of recovery from acute and chronic stress/pain syndromes which utilizes specific & precise massage therapy, flexibility stretching, and home care techniques, to eliminate the causes of most neuromuscular stress/pain patterns. This specific and scientific approach to muscular pain relief will help to bring about balance between the musculoskeletal system and the nervous system. NMT enhances the function of joints, muscles and biomechanics (movement) and it releases endorphins, the body's own natural pain killers. It can be part of a comprehensive program, complementing all other health care modalities.
Neuromuscular Therapy examines six physiological factors which may create or intensify pain patterns.
These six factors are: 1. Ischemia, 2. Trigger Points, 3. Nerve Entrapment/Compression, 4. Postural Distortions, 5. Nutrition, 6. Emotional Wellbeing
Bio:I've been around natural health my whole life. Now, a graduate of the Ann Arbor Institute of Massage Therapy, I have Certificates in Neuromuscular & Myofascial Therapies, as well as training in Swedish Massage Techniques, Shiatsu/acupressure, Reflexology, Sports Massage (including PNF Stretching), Kinesiology and Posturology. I started working in other establishments, getting my feet wet in the craft, including a salon, chiropractic office and a Spa before opening my own Wellness Center in Plymouth. I wanted a place where I could help people in a way that not many other massage therapists are. I offer interested clientele a scientific explaination of how Nutrition and "Building & cleaning" the body's systems with food and specific massage techniques to balance their Homeostasis more EFFICIENTLY! Neuromuscular Therapy is my main method of specific massage therapy to balance the Nerve-Muscle System.
